Dramatic drop-offs
into deep blue waters, enchanting coral gardens, sandy white beaches
lots of watersport activity and busy night life can all be found in
the Sharm el Sheikh area. This cosmopolitan resort is located at the
tip of the Sinai Peninsula where the red mountains, white sands and
blue sea create a unique color combination. Dives in the Ras Muhammad
area, just a stone's-throw away, are world renowned and sensational.
Sharm el Sheikh is also a starting point for journeys on liveaboard diving boats to the more remote and pristine reefs in the Red Sea. The Sharm area is composed of several resorts: Sharm el Maya, the bay area of the old town where you will find sandy beaches shaded by palm trees and new 5 star hotels. Ras umm Sid is a newly developed resort situated on a cliff above one of the best diving sites in the area. Na'ama bay lies the long sandy bay which is now the center of night life in the area, just 5 km north of the main town. There are many luxurious hotels and a nice promenade where you can stroll in the evening looking for a place to wine and dine out of the numerous options of restaurants and cafe's. Sharm is 'the' place to take diving courses, offering both the best diving instructors and luxuriant marine life. From Sharm you can go on exciting tours to Egypt's "mainland" to see the wonders of the Pharoahs' kingdom or travel to the neighboring countries Israel and Jordan. |
